Summer break is almost over, but we wanted to share a few more summer painting ideas for everyone to try! Balloon painting was a hit at our house – I hope you try it out!
Rainbow balloon painting (top picture)
Materials needed:
- Balloons
- Paint
- White paper
- Glue & colored paper for background (optional)
For a list of our favorite craft supplies click here.
Directions:
- Take your balloons and fill them with air. We kept our balloons fairly small so that they were easy for my kids to grip.

2. Dip the top of your balloon in paint & start creating your rainbow!

3. Let everything dry.
4. Glue your rainbow onto a sheet of colored paper. This step is optional, I just think it makes everything pop :)
5. You’re finished! Balloon painting gives it such a cool texture.

Tape Resist Balloon Painting (Bottom Picture)
Materials:
- White paper
- Painters tape
- Paint
- Balloons
- Colored paper & glue for background (optional)
Directions:
- Take your painters tape and create a fun pattern on your white paper!

2. Use your balloons to paint all over your design. You can use a different balloon for each color or you can just wipe off the balloon in between colors.

3. Allow everything to completely dry.
4. Peel off all your tape! My tape peels right up – but if you’re having any issues you can put a blow dryer on it for a few seconds to help it come off smoothly.

5. Glue your design to a sheet of colored paper (optional) – you’re finished!
