Show of hands…who else loves Halloween crafts?! These ghost paintings are so much fun – I thought these would be the perfect craft for any age!
Here is everything you’ll need:
- White paper
- Colored paper
- Tape
- Black marker
- Paint
- Cotton ball
- Clothes pin
- Glue
Directions:
- Start by making a cut out of your ghost. We used card stock paper. If drawing isn’t your thing – you can google search an outline & trace it!

2. Tape your cutout onto a sheet of white paper.
3. For painting #1 – take your clothes pin & clasp a cotton ball to the top. Dip in your paint and have fun dotting your cotton ball all over your paper!

4. Let everything dry.
5. Peel up your cut out! Make sure to do this slowly so that nothing rips.

6. Add your ghost eyes & mouth using black marker.
7. Glue down to a sheet of colored paper (optional). I think a background boarder makes everything pop!

8. For painting #2 – Follow the same steps at painting #1, but use your paint brush to brush on straight lines instead. I think it gives it the appearance of the ghost popping out – so cool!

Reasons why I love these painting ideas:
- My kids have total freedom to paint however they like. They love seeing the end result!
- I already had all these materials laying around at home.
- It’s a Halloween craft – need I say more?
