Shaving Cream Christmas Trees

Shaving Cream Christmas Trees

If you haven’t tried painting with shaving cream, this is your sign to try it! These shaving cream Christmas trees were a hit with my kids, I hope you love them too.

Did you know: There are approximately 25-30 million real Christmas trees sold in the United States each year!

Here is what you’ll need:

  1. White paper (we used cardstock paper)
  2. Shaving cream
  3. Food coloring
  4. Cardboard
  5. Red/green paper for background (optional)
  6. Glue
  7. Fork
  8. Star for the top
  9. Glitter glue/paint for the ornaments

Directions:

  1. Spray your shaving cream into a shallow dish. You don’t need a thick layer just enough to cover the dish.
  2. Put 4-5 drops of food coloring onto your shaving cream in a vertical line.

3. Use your fork to feather out your food coloring drops into a Christmas tree shape.

4. Put your sheet of paper on top of the food coloring & shaving cream. Tap the paper down gently.

5. Peel your paper up.

6. Scrap the shaving cream off the paper using your cardboard to reveal your Christmas tree.

7. Decorate your tree using a star, paint, glitter glue – whatever you’d like!

8. You’re finished! I hope you love making these as much as we did.

My kids & I love this craft because there is a different result each time. Process art is definitely a household favorite. We hung our art work on the fridge for the rest of the holiday season.
