Directions:

  1. Cut your white paper into an Easter egg shape. You can free hand this or trace an image off of a google.
  2. Put a layer of your shaving cream into your shallow dish. Add drops of food coloring.

3. Swirl your food coloring drops into your shaving cream using your fork. A spoon, butter knife, or toothpick would all work great too!

4. Place your paper egg into the shaving cream mixture and gently tap down.

5. Lift your egg out and lay it down on a hard surface.

6. Scrape off the shaving cream using your piece of cardboard.

7. Allow everything to dry – you’re finished!

Here’s a short tutorial video:

Why I love this craft:

  • It’s a fun hands on craft that my kids go crazy for. They love crafts that have multiple steps.
  • Each egg comes out with a unique design.
  • They look amazing on the fridge!

FAQ’S:

  • Will any type of food coloring work? We’ve only used liquid food coloring. I don’t think gel food coloring would work as well.
  • How long do they take to dry? Once you scrape off the shaving cream, they are good to go. There might be a couple wet spots that will dry in seconds.
