Tape Resist Easter Eggs

These tape resist Easter eggs are a must try.

We’ve done tape resist painting in the past, if you search around on my page you’ll find a few different examples. I thought this would be a fun twist for Easter! Let me show you how to make them.

Joke of the day: Why shouldn’t you tell an Easter egg a joke? It might crack up!

Materials:

1. White paper
2. Black paper
3. Paint
4. Paint brushes
5. Painters tape or maksing tape
6. Glue
7. Scissors
8. Blow dryer (optional)

Directions:

1. Cut your white paper into an egg shape. You can eye ball this or trace an egg outline off of google images.
2. Add your strips of painters tape all over your egg. We did ours in a zig zag pattern. If your painters tape is too thick, you can cut it in half or quarters using your scissors.

3. Have fun painting all over your egg!

4. Allow your egg to dry.

5. Carefully peel off your painters tape. If your tape starts to rip the paper – apply heat using a blow dryer. It will peel right up!

6. Glue your egg onto a sheet of black paper to make it pop. You’re finished!

• There are so many different ways you can apply the painters tape. Each egg will have a unique design.
• It’s a 3 step art project. My kids love crafts that have multiple steps.
• They look amazing hanging on the fridge!

FAQ’S:

• What type of paint did you use? We used acrylic paint. The brand is Craft Smart which we found at Hobby Lobby, but is also for sale on Amazon.
• How long do these take to dry? We used a blow dryer to speed things up. It was roughly 2 minutes with the blow dryer.
