This tulip suncatcher is perfect for spring & summer time! My kids & I loved making several of these to decorate our sliding glass door for summer. Let me show you how to make them.
Here is what you’ll need:
- A coffee filter
- Washable markers
- Spray bottle of water
- Black construction paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Tape
Directions:
- Start by coloring your coffee filter with washable markers! Perfect lines or scribbles – it doesn’t matter!

2. Spray your coffee filter with water. You could also use drops of water – whatever is easier!

3. Let the coffee filter completely dry – takes about 20-30 minutes.
4. Cut your black construction paper into you tulip shape. I free handed my outline but you could also google search “tulip outline” & trace it.

5. Glue your coffee filter to black tulip outline – cut off any excess pieces on the edges. Hang yours in a window with a small piece of tape & enjoy your new tulip suncatcher!
